I’m sure you’ve heard of CrossFit before, but in case you haven’t – it’s a high intensity workout that incorporates different elements of sport and types of exercise, and this workout is perfect for everyone who wants to get fitter, which includes you, ladies! Whether you’re an athlete or a beginner, you should definitely give CrossFit a go. If you’re still unsure and want to know what this workout is all about, our friend at CrossFit 6221, Ariavita, shares her story to put your mind at ease. So here are six reasons why women should do CrossFit and why you’ll love it.

The high intensity of CrossFit may seem intimidating for beginners, but there’s nothing to worry about because you can scale each workout to fit your current level. At the same time this workout will definitely challenge you, which allows you to improve every single day.

“When I first started I couldn’t do a single proper push ups, so that’s my motivation to stay I want to be able to do 10 push ups one day. From then I came every day. There were many movements that I had to scale down i.e. all the lifts, pull ups kettle bells etc. but I didn’t stop… I kept coming back and build my skills and strength everyday”

One of the greatest things about CrossFit is the fact that it is a fitness programme supervised by professionals, which ticks the boxes for safety and effectiveness. CrossFit trains 10 areas of fitness – strength, endurance, stamina, power, speed, accuracy, balance, flexibility, agility and coordination – it’s everything a super woman needs, CrossFit combines all of them. We use weights, body weight, gymnastics and mono-structural cardio activities to train those 10 areas of the body. It’s fun, diverse and challenging!

In CrossFit you get to train with a group of people that keep you motivated and energized. The fitness programs run in groups, so you will be surrounded by people who strive for the same goal as you do. Making new friends is always a wonderful thing, and it becomes a community of people who support and push each other to become better. There are tons of benefits CrossFit has to offer for your wellbeing. It helps regulate and balance your hormones, to make sure you stay healthy and free from unwanted diseases.
