A common problem of today’s society is that kids have become more and more sedentary. As technology is more advance, we find out youth spending more and more time sitting down in front of TV, computers, iPads and smart phones.  CrossFit Kiddies and Youth promotes activity to help develop healthier and happier children.

CrossFit Kids combines gymnastics, body weight calisthenics, and for the youth, when they are ready we introduce weightlifting elements to develop capacity across the same ten general physical skills promoted by CrossFit: cardio-respiratory endurance, power, strength, stamina, speed, agility, flexibility, balance, accuracy, and co- ordination.

Our programming is not just a scaled down version of the adult’s CrossFit program. We still use functional movements that kids should be using in their everyday play. Some of the movements include pulling, pushing, running, throwing, climbing, lifting and jumping.

We focus on a program that will improve the kid’s overall fitness and physical well-being, encouraging good bone density development, muscular and neurological development, and gross motor skills.

Beyond the physical aspects, CrossFit Kids will develop the children’s mental and social skills such as:

  • Confidence – the ability to perform new skills
  • Team work – through working out together with other children
  • Camaraderie – supporting and encouraging fellow kids to do their best
  • Healthy self image
