Coach’s Story

I moved to Jakarta in 2007 and was finding it difficult to maintain an active lifestyle. In Sydney I trained at the gym (personal training and group exercises), played touch football, did kick boxing, swimming and did yoga regularly. However, since my move to Indonesia, I found it hard to find motivation to keep up my training. I was easily bored, not challenged and wasn’t participating in a sport with friends.

CrossFit was a game changer for me… my friends introduced it to me in August 2011 and it was challenging and fun because I was working out with friends. I found that CrossFit was helping me become more athletic all round, my strength, endurance, explosive power all increased. Since seeing those results in myself I decided to help others reach their own potential too.

I decided to take up CFKids because I believe that an active lifestyle should start from an early age. My kids have seen me doing CrossFit from a young age, and it is just part of what they know as the norm. I believe more kids should be exposed to this to help them build a healthy and active lifestyle.
