Coach’s Story

Build CrossFit into your lifestyle. It’s more than the 6o minutes you spend at the box. Do other activities, sports and exercises that either compliment CrossFit or is improved from your CrossFit training. Eat accordingly…. but most importantly.

I’m Karina and I moved here from Sydney Australia. In Sydney I had an active lifestyle since university, I trained at the gym (personal training and group exercises), played touch football, did kick boxing, swimming and did yoga regularly. However, since my move to Indonesia, I found it hard to find motivation to keep up my training. I was easily bored, not challenged and wasn’t participating in a sport with friends.

CrossFit was a game changer for me… my friends introduced it to me in August 2011 and it was challenging and fun because I was working out with friends.

For people who are thinking of trying or joining, the biggest step is commitment. CrossFit isn’t scary or hard, because we scale movements to your ability and everything is relative. However, what we do ask from our members is putting in the hours and staying dedicated – that’s the only way you will see results and build that confidence.

There is a misconception that CrossFit is for only those who are already fit. However, CrossFit is for ANYONE who wants to live a healthier lifestyle. We use functional movements in our training, so that means these are movements that we all should be able to do and would do them in our daily lives.

If you think you are unfit, or overweight or have a limitation, let us know and we will work with you to work with your ability. The best thing about CrossFit is that people do it ranging from 4 through till 80 years old!

There are so many things I love about CrossFit, but the things that make it standout to me the most is: the community and the variety in the workouts. The people who do CrossFit are all there to get healthier together, they encourage you and push you further. The work outs are different everyday, and everyday is a new challenge. Not knowing what will be on the board each day creates an excitement, I know whatever is up there that day, I will give it my best and I will have all of the other members there doing it with me and cheering each other on.
